State Ranks 31st In Small Business Survival

Louisiana made one of its better showings among indexes that rank national business conditions, finishing 31st on the 2007 Small Business Survival Index released Friday. Conducted by the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council in Washington D.C., the index analyzes public policy climates for small businesses and entrepreneurship. Among neighboring states, Texas is seventh, Alabama 10th, Mississippi 16th and Arkansas 27th.

South Dakota topped the list, followed by Nevada in second place and Wyoming in third.
